Membership Information: New membership, transfers, or renewals

New Membership
If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and were honorably discharged you are eligible for membership with the American Legion. If you are still on active duty, you are eiligible for membership wtih the American Legion.
- Complete American Legion Alamo Post 2 Membership Form. Applications are also available at the Post.
- Print two (2) completed copies; keep one copy for your records.
- Dues payments are accepted via cash, check, or money order made payable to Alamo Post 2, The American Legion.
- If the information is correct, membership will be approved and then a membership card will be mailed to you
- In person: bring a copy to the Post and turn it in to a Post Officer, along wtih your dues payment. Provide a copy of your DD214 discharge with your social security number redacted. If you are still on active duty, print a copy of your most recent PCS orders.
- Mail: send a copy of the application, your dues payment (check or money order only!), and a copy of your DD214 discharge with your social security number redacted. If you are still on active duty, print a copy of your most recent PCS orders.
Transfer Membership to Alamo Post 2
Veterans applying for transfers from your current Post to Post 2, please follow these steps:
- Visit the Post at 3518 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78201 to obtain and fill out a Transfer Member Data Form
- Submit Transfer Member Data Form along with a copy of your DD-214 or Proof of Service and show membership card
- Pay Post 2 membership dues of $40 if current year dues have not been paid. If current dues are paid at previous post, dues can be paid later for the following year's Post 2 membership.
